Washburn Team Doubles Down on Community Events

The RDO Equipment Co. team in Washburn, ND recently connected with the community through two events: a 4-H tractor safety camp and this summer’s Washburn Riverboat Days.

The North Dakota State University 4-H Tractor Safety Camp was held in Washburn in late May for children aged 13-15 who planned to work on a farm in the near future. The goal of the camp is to instill safe practices in and around farm equipment through hands-on activities.

The Washburn team delivered two tractors to the campground for students to learn from, an opportunity Store Manager Patrick Frohlich said not only gives students a bit of exposure to green equipment, but, most importantly, helps keep members of the community safe.

“Many of the kids participating in the camp are customers’ kids or relatives of customers. If we can do our part to help them be safe on the farm, everybody wins.”

The team also sponsored the Washburn Riverboat Days event, which Patrick called “the summer event” in town. Participation in the Riverboat Days is a longstanding tradition for the Washburn team, who have been involved in various aspects of the event over the years.

This year, in addition to a sponsorship, team members will be heavily represented in the annual parade, between those representing RDO with equipment and others representing the Washburn Fire Department.
