Tom Potter promoted to General Manager of Emerging Technology Markets

RDO Equipment Co. announced the promotion of Tom Potter to General Manager of Emerging Technology Markets. This strategic move is part of RDO's continuous efforts to help customers use technology to become more productive and profitable. 

In his new role, Potter will oversee RDO's technology offerings from its Vermeer, Teleo and Carlson manufacturing partners. His focus will be on identifying opportunities to use emerging technology solutions to enhance accuracy and consistency for customers working in landfill, mining, solar and other specialized industries.  

Potter joins a growing technology team led by Adam Gilbertson, RDO’s senior vice president of field technology and innovation, who was promoted to his position earlier this year. “Our focus at RDO is all about harnessing technology to help our customers achieve their goals to improve safety, increase efficiency and improve profitability,” said Gilbertson. 

Gilbertson said Potter has exemplified world-class service and leadership skills for more than 14 years. In 2009, Tom joined RDO in Billings, Montana, as one of the original three team members who started RDO Equipment Co.’s department focused on technology solutions across its footprint.  

Potter started his career as the Topcon account manager for Wyoming and grew to meet the increasing demand for Carlson Technology equipment solutions and software. He most recently was RDO’s Carlson product manager.  

“We are confident that the best is yet to come for Tom (Potter) as he takes on this new leadership role partnering with Vermeer and our team at RDO as he continues to support our customers as they search for new methods and techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency in their work," Gilbertson said.
