Year after year, the RDO Equipment Co. team in Riverside, California, continues to build a strong relationship with Camp Pendleton, a Marine Corps base in southern California.
After the base purchased two new machines, the Marines contacted the RDO team for training. Southwest Government Account Manager Stefanie Miller led the effort, covering the ins and outs of operation and providing the new Marine Corps operators with full equipment walkarounds, rides and driving training.
“Our RDO team used the ‘train the trainer approach,’ which entails teaching one participant how to operate the machine and then letting them show the next with the team’s direction and supervision,” Miller said. “We even started a competition for RDO hats, which kept everyone engaged and having fun.”
This training session was team members' second visit to Camp Pendelton. As new Marines enter the base, it’s essential they are trained on the technology so they can use equipment to its fullest potential. RDO team members take pride in serving the men and women enlisted in the U.S. Armed Forces — in any way possible.
Miller also highlighted this training opportunity as not only fun for the Marines but the RDO team as well.
“It’s a great chance to build relationships with the Marines,” she said. “One (Marine) even asked about possible employment opportunities after his retirement.”
