Minnesota contractors in North Mankato have counted on their community’s heavy equipment store for nearly half a century. After the store’s remodel, they can expect to access the latest construction equipment and technology for years to come.
RDO acquired the John Deere construction equipment and shop in 1992. Even before then, team members working in Mankato had spent more than 50 years partnering with regional contractors to build their communities. A&B Systems Inc., an established Minnesota contractor with strong roots in Mankato, built the original store and completed the store’s remodel. The remodel tripled the store’s service shop and parts warehouse’s square footage, plus added these features:
- Larger service bays, plus three more areas to service machines
- Increased parts warehouse space and inventory
- Updated amenities like a conference room, a formal break room, a training area and a sales bullpen
“We can accommodate John Deere, Vermeer or WIRTGEN GROUP machines of all sizes and comfortably provide world-class service safely,” said Dan Lingen, RDO Mankato’s General Manager. “These amenities in our store and service shop create a top-tier experience for our customers.”
Lingen said RDO team members take pride in partnering with expert contractors as they grow with their greater community of Mankato. Kevin Depuydt, Owner of Dirt Merchants Inc. (DMI), shared his experience.
“We’ve purchased and rented equipment from the RDO Mankato store. One of our main goals has been consistently growing to complete projects as dictated by the city's needs and its surrounding areas, and in RDO, we’ve found a strong partner,” Depuydt said. “We’ve completed many site development jobs over the years and even expanded to partner with other area contractors to reconstruct Riverfront Drive, a key historic corridor in Mankato, Minnesota."
Depuydt has relied on RDO Mankato store for the equipment, technology and service needed to keep his team working since 2003. Depuydt’s fleet includes more than 16 dozers, many excavators and a few rental machines. He explained that the support he has received from the RDO team in Mankato has been instrumental in solving any issues that his team may have experienced.
“Dan and everyone at the RDO store do a great job at being available to answer questions and source equipment or parts, especially during critical times when we need to keep working to stay on schedule,” Depuydt said.
Lingen shared that many customers have consistently depended on RDO team members’ ability to deliver the equipment, technology and field service to keep machines up and running.
