Dr. Abbey Wick, North Dakota State University, on the Agriculture Technology Podcast

Posted on
For how in-tune she is with the crops, fields, and farmers in the Red River Valley, one might think Dr. Abbey Wick grew up in the Midwest and spent years around agriculture. Surprisingly, neither is true. For this Cleveland, OH native, the opportunity to take the job of Extension Soil Health Specialist at North Dakota State University came part by chance and part from a growing interest to work in the field agriculture.

Host Tony Kramer invited Dr. Wick on the podcast to discuss, what she says is the toughest question she’s often asked: “What is soil health?” In addition, the two discussed strategies to protect soil and why it’s important farmers look further ahead than next year’s yield when implementing practices to build soil health.
